I was touched by the braveness of this young 22-year-old woman working in a mobile shop who found herself being threatened from a desperate man wanting cash to avoid eviction. Faced with a potential life and death situation she chose to offer the hope of Christ to this man. It really is quite a moving video to watch.
Even though it turned out the gun was a replica it shouldn't detract from the fact that her compassion far outweighed the fear for her own safety. Her courage and conviction clearly shone through.
The shop manager Nayara Goncalves said:
"It touched me. I could never be able to think I could to talk or preach to someone with a gun.
"I just felt like hugging him and saying please don't do this."
Veda Coleman-Wright, of Broward County sheriff's office, said she had never seen anything like it in her 14 years on the job.
An uplifting story to start the week.
